Inside Out

In the 1980s the RYP formed an enduring collaborative relationship with Niall O’Baoill at Wet Paint. Working through drama, the collaboration was consolidated in the production of a trilogy of plays that spanned up to 1995. Niall O’Baoill coordinated production and introduced Kathy McCardle. That trilogy was issue-based. Each play cycle took a year to complete from the very first meeting, building the interest, the writing process and the performance to the sign-off on the evaluation. The third play in that series, Inside Out was produced in the mid-90s and dealt with the prison system. In 1997 a video documentary was launched about the making of Inside Out.
